Take on me

A picture says more than a thousand words, yes, yes, we've heard that before. But how do you distill a thousand words into a picture? I tried to do that, and six versions later this is as close as I got. (I just hope you can see it: resolution and digital rendering of colours tends to work against me. Facial expressions are key in this, and sadly it looks like they don't translate very well digitally. xT ) The End of the Beginning is a very long fic, with many nuances; but if I were to reach out for its essence, I think it would be the gaze Shiro and Mephisto share in this drawing.

Then there was the issue of a title. ^_^' First distill a thousand words (more like a hundred thousand) into a picture, and then distill that picture into a title? Holy crap. I had no idea what to do. @_@ Then I stumbled upon a work by RaysOfVioletOrange raysofvioletorange.deviantart.… titled Take on me. And it just clicked. That's what they're silently saying, when they look at each other like that. "Take me on, I'll give you hell; and you will enjoy it."
